We are looking for serious learners who are passionate about learning in an inclusive and collaborative environment. The students who thrive are the ones working hard to find creative solutions to tough problems.
We issue a series of challenges that you can do on your own time to get warmed up to the material and that will allow you to hit the ground running on day one.
The full-stack curriculum consists of 2 sequential part-time courses: Kickstart Backend and Kickstart Frontend.
One homework each week. These assignments consist of iterative improvements on a personal project according to criteria that is related to the material at hand.
One group project at the end of each course part. The topic is up to the students, but the only requirement is that they should employ some of the new skills learned in class.
All classes at Kickstart Coding are part-time classes.
All classes are located at our coworking space that we reserve in Uptown Oakland, conveniently located a few steps away from 19th BART station.
Lessons consist of an exciting and varied mix of lectures, hands-on activities, and project work. Expect to spend most of the lesson time in guided coding activities.
Before and after classes, we reserve time for the students to mingle and collaborate with their classmates and to get extra guidance from instructors on how to handle any challenging homework and project issues.
